In 2013 Crystal Chords supported the charity SAFE (Standards Against Female Exploitation), an innovative charity that engages with the sex industry in the UK promoting self-regulation and safer practices through The SAFE Network.
We were very pleased to present John, founder of SAFE with a cheque for £6,500 representing the amount raised by our combined fundraising effort for the charity.
John from SAFE says: "In 2013 we were fortunate enough to be picked as the named charity for the Crystal Chords ladies barbershop chorus. In that last year their efforts led to the collection of a staggering £6,500 from a number and range of events. They sang for us, they sang for Manchester, they shone, they raised awareness, they baked cakes but above all else they became friends of SAFE and helped us to continue our work to end human trafficking and the sexual exploitation of those under age.
Crystal Chords have contributed more than 10% of our charities annual income in our first real year of operations. I doubt that any group of supporters will be able to have such an impact on our future again. Their efforts will not be forgotten either by ourselves or the women that have been helped."
