About Crystal Chords harmony chorus

What a wonderful (musical) world

It has been said that for every situation, there is a song to suit. Inspired by the vast world of music, we sing a diverse range of songs which tell the rich stories of life.

The group has been entertaining for almost 30 years. Today there are 48 women and membership is growing. We have strong connections in Manchester and beyond, performing at private and public events while regularly supporting community groups and charities. Each year Crystal Chords votes for a main charity to support (additional to other charitable events) and in 2009 we are proud to be supporting Mellor Country House in Stockport which provides much needed breaks for people who may otherwise not be afforded such an opportunity.

Some of the founding members are still with the chorus and while we love singing together, that is not all we share. We regularly enjoy workshops, tours and other social events - singing wherever we go.

We are an award-winning chorus and regulary compete nationally and internationally. Competing is also a great (and challenging!) way to gain valuable singing and performance experience. There are times when we have asked ourselves 'so, why do we do this?' just before going on stage. Then the stage fright turns to smiles as the songs begin... Year on year we seek to improve our style and expand our repertoire.

How to describe Crystal Chords? Audience feedback includes 'dynamic' and 'thoroughly enjoyable'. The warm feelings are mutual as we love to meet and entertain. In terms of competing, here's what a few of our clients had to say…

'Well thought out performance, stylish and most enjoyable'

Adjudicator, Hazel Grove Music Festival, March 2009

'I enjoyed [the performance] very much ... made my shortlist of 5'

Judge, Manchester Amateur Choral Competition, November 2008

'Lots of dynamic variety'

LABBS Convention evaluation, Harrogate, October 2008
